About Us

Residential Youth Care and SeaLevel

For over three decades, Residential Youth Care (RYC) has stood as a beacon of hope for vulnerable Alaskan youth, transforming lives through comprehensive behavioral health services, from Ketchikan, across the broader State of Alaska. From our humble beginnings as a five-bed therapeutic foster home, RYC has become a cornerstone of community support, now offering 35 residential treatment beds, 10 therapeutic foster care placements, and extensive community-based services reaching over 40 youth.

Our evolution reflects our unwavering commitment to meeting the complex needs of Alaska's youth and families through accredited behavioral health services, including residential care, outpatient clinical support, therapeutic rehabilitation, and preventative programs. Guided by our mission "to advocate for and foster the safety and well-being of youth at risk and their families so they may lead productive lives," our dedicated team of 50 professionals, overseen by a six-member board, works tirelessly to create positive change.

It is from this mission and committment that SeaLevel has emerged.

SeaLevel Youth Center is a community-driven initiative designed to provide a safe, welcoming space for Ketchikan's youth (ages 15-21) to access services, build relationships, and engage in activities that provide purpose and satisfaction. SeaLevel will serve as a centralized resource where young people can connect with skilled adults, receive mental health support, gain employment readiness skills, and address food insecurity—all within a non-stigmatizing, accessible environment. SeaLevel's design is rooted in strong community priorities and partnerships, ensuring that the project responds directly to local needs while increasing and strengthening primary prevention efforts.
